Jr. Artist

As a 3D Artist, you will work directly with our Senior 3D Artists and Art Director to create 2D/3D game assets for use in Unreal Engine 4. You should have a solid knowledge of optimizing polygons, creating texture files and PBR-based materials, UV map adjustments, proper file naming and setup, and scene clean-up. In addition, you will need to have an understanding of form and shape and how it relates to proper perspective. Finally, you will need to be able to isolate issues and bugs associated with 3D assets, materials, shaders, and engine-specific features associated with 3D content creation. Creating 3D models will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Experience in creating Nex-gen assets for UE4
  • Work with designers and engineers to make visually stunning game art while maintaining good performance on next-gen platforms
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of optimization techniques
  • High-res sculpting in ZBrush and decimation low poly process
  • Excellent texture abilities of both realistic and painterly style/materials
  • Autodesk Maya (preferred) or 3DS Max
  • Expert knowledge of  Substance Painter
  • Flexibility with adoption of art styles and direction is critical
  • Modeling and texture game-ready assets
  • Meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Work closely with the Senior 3D Artists and Art Director
  • Maintain consistent style under the direction of the Art Director
  • Excellent communication skills

Requirements

  • Excellent Physically-Based Rendering material/texture creation skills
  • Excellent communication skills. Must be able to thrive in a highly collaborative, team oriented environment
  • Strong understanding of modern game engines
  • Strong understanding of modern art pipelines
  • Strong work ethic, and ability to maintain high quality and consistent progress without constant supervision
  • 2-3+ years of experience in game development

Preferences

  • High-res modeling skills in ZBrush
  • Experience with SideFX Houdini
  • Familiarity with Substance Designer & Substance Painter pipelines
  • Shipped one or more major titles on multiple platforms is preferred
